The Best Emergency Kit for Your Wedding
10 Proven Items You Need To Have
Weddings are stressful enough when everything goes as planned. As a full-time wedding photographer with more than 400 weddings under my belt, I've seen nearly everything that can go wrong. The bride's dress zipper popped because she jumped on the bed for the 'gram. The groom's mother is a touch faint from the heat and lack of water. The groomsmen are drunk off their asses before the first look even happens. Lastly, the bridesmaids' dress has an extensive wine stain from the ring bearer accidentally knocking a glass of pinot off the table. Let's not even mention the worst thing possible - diarrhea.
To minimize these could-be-catastrophic issues and reduce the stress of everyone at the wedding, I asked recent clients if they had any must-have items for a wedding day emergency kit. These are the wedding tips from brides.
Bridal Emergency Kit List:
Blotting Paper for Oily Skin
Shiny skin can be a photographer's nightmare on the wedding day. Heat, dancing, and nerves before the ceremony lead to the bride (and bridesmaids) sweating and appearing oily and shiny. Avoid putting on too much makeup, and just use blotting paper to knock down the shine. Remember, blot, don't rub.
Recommended Product: Natural Green Tea Blotting Paper for Oily Skin
Pepto Bismol
Nerves before the first dance have you locked away in the bathroom? Just pop a bunch of these caplets and get back out there.
Recommended Product: Pepto Bismol Ultra Caplets
White Safety Pins
Dress issues happen far too often. Popped zippers, missing buttons, lost more weight than you expected. Be prepared with WHITE safety pins and a sewing kit.
Recommended Product: Arricraft 100PCS 1" White Safety Pins
Sewing Kit

Electrolyte Drink Mix
As a photographer, I add at least one hydration multiplier to a water bottle while photographing the wedding day. These powder packs are easy to drink and more potent than Pedialyte or Gatorade. My best advice is to give one to everyone in the bridal party - just to be safe.
Recommended Product: Liquid I.V. Hydration Multiplier
Pain Medicine
You'll be walking, standing, and moving on your wedding day more than expected. Maybe you have a wicked headache or low back pain. Keep some Ibuprofen, Advil, Midol, or Tylenol handy, just in case.
Recommended Product: Amazon Basic Care Ibuprofen Tablets, 200 mg, Pain Reliever/Fever Reducer
Nipple Cover Breast Pasties
This is the other wardrobe malfunction you really don't want in front of 150 guests. Stick 'em, and forget 'em.

Moleskin Anti-Blister Tape
Most shoes worn at weddings are absolutely gorgeous and God-forsakenly uncomfortable. Blisters will ruin your day quick. Apply a cushioned moleskin as soon as a hotspot appears (or better yet, before).
Recommended Product: Dr. Scholl's Moleskin Plus Padding Roll
Red Wine Stain Remover
I use this wine stain remover at home all the time. My wife introduced it to me when we bought a new couch, white area rug, and white ornate dining table runner for the holidays. We don't even worry about people spilling wine now because this removes it in seconds.
Recommended Product: Wine Away Red Wine Stain Remover
Multipurpose Nylon Mesh Cosmetic Bag
You'll want something to store all of this stuff in. Clear bags work best, so use a big Ziplock, or spend a few more bucks to get these multi-colored mesh zippered makeup bags.

Hopefully, you won't need to use the emergency kit for the bride on the wedding day, but if you do, you'll be prepared to keep the fun times flowing.
