Frequently Asked Questions

Our wedding photography style is photojournalism. I am a former daily newspaper photojournalist, and this is my unique experience and expertise. It's the least intrusive way to capture your wedding story's real moments and authentic emotions. Our goal is for you to fully submerse yourself in your wedding day and allow us to document the natural and genuine relationships and expressions, rather than putting on a photoshoot and working off a shot list.

Formal photos with friends and families are an essential part of a wedding. They will be some of your most looked at images decades later. We always take these formals at weddings, but as wedding photojournalists, we don't showcase them on our website. Check out a recent full wedding to get a better idea of your end product.

Believe it or not, most couples are awkward initially in front of the camera -it's normal! We pose and direct couples for photography during family formals, romantic portraits, and bridal party photos. We spend much time (amongst the longest of your wedding vendors) working with you and building a relationship. Hence, you're more comfortable on your wedding day. You'll be so busy that you won't have time to be awkward on your wedding day. We just put you in a beautiful location and give you cues to work from to create the most authentic expressions possible.

The wedding ceremony and formal family portraits are essential to your wedding story, but my favorite part of the wedding day to photograph is the getting-ready and dance floor action during the wedding reception.
I find that these parts of the wedding day are the most visually interesting, least stressful, and most fun to document. During preparation, the bride and groom are with only their closest friends and family. It's here where you can see their true personalities. Getting-ready rooms are also usually messy and cluttered. The clutter would freak a lot of photographers out, but my photojournalism background allows me to turn the chaos into creative story-telling layers.
The wedding reception dancing is when guests are most free-spirited (and liquored up). There are just so many great moments to capture when guests let loose.

Our goal is to tell your wedding story wholly and beautifully. To do so, we take lots of photos. At some point, the images will become repetitive. After the wedding, we carefully select and edit the best pictures that meet our technical and stylistic standards. The unflattering or repetitive photos will not be delivered so that you are not overwhelmed. Our clients usually receive 300 to 800 images, depending on the coverage time, activities of their wedding, and the number of photographers.
-
Editing is a daunting task for any wedding photographer. At times, we have photographed 10,000 images (I'm looking at you, three-day Indian weddings). Depending on which part of the wedding season we're in, it can take up to 60 days to receive your final gallery. We strive for (and usually beat) delivering your gallery within 30 days - amongst the quickest in the industry.

Yes, we offer a few albums to choose from: a linen coffee table book and a Leather Legacy Album. The Legacy Album is the best-handcrafted album you will ever have, and they often weigh 8-10 lbs. You can add an album at any point of your wedding experience with us. We'll design the album immediately following your wedding and typically have it completed for your final approval while you're on your honeymoon.

Yes, we have a great selection of wall art, including framed prints, standouts, and canvas. We also have smaller gift prints if you want to send photographs to your parents, grandparents, or bridal party. These can all be ordered after your wedding when you have your final online gallery in hand.
-
We are fully licensed and insured for your ease of mind. It's common for venues to require a Certificate of Insurance from your wedding vendors. We'll handle all of the details of this for you - you don't need to stress about our professionalism.
